Selman Design was formed in the winter of 2013 by Johnny Selman. We’re a team of designers and producers who work with a wide range of clients to create comprehensive identity systems, develop brand strategies, and design packaging, exhibits, experiences, books, websites, commercials, advertisements and applications. Our work has been recognized for excellence in visual communication, illustration and typography.

We work in a very fast-paced environment and excel with extremely quick deadlines, revisions, and deliveries — all without compromising the quality of our work. We take a holistic approach to identity design and look at the brand’s identity as a system. It’s not just the logo and core elements, it’s the world in which it lives. This helps give our clients a future outlook of where they can expect their brand to be in 5 to 10 years.

Core Team

Johnny Selman

Principal & Creative Director

Originally from Southern Virginia, Johnny’s unique approach to design has been widely acclaimed. BBCx365, a year of world news in posters, received global recognition. He worked at industry leading creative studios and branding consultancies and ultimately worked with the amazing team at Google Creative Lab. He founded Selman Design in the Winter of 2013.

His motto: Be direct. Be humble. Be nice.

Katie King Rumford

Design Director

Katie loves traveling and has lived in San Francisco, Italy, India and now NYC. Katie’s passion for design and lettering has stemmed from her love for art, as well as her experience living in different cultures and enjoying delicious foods.

Anne Di Lillo

Designer & Animator

Anne is powered by good coffee.

JP Chirdon

Designer & Strategist

JP’s fascinations with word, image and story can be traced back to sleepovers, HBO, and oldies radio. After filling breaks from design school by playing music around the US, New York became his permanent home in 2005.

Favorite drink: Hey Sailor

Albert Chang

Designer

Coming from Albany, California, Albert spent time in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles before moving east to fulfill his dream of working in New York’s vibrant design scene. He is an avid illustrator and inspired by all things design.

Albert can type 144 WPM. Challenge him.

Mike Scandiffio

Account Director & Producer

Growing up in Brooklyn, Mike is the only native New Yorker to join the team. His passion is people, and has spent years working and building relationships with clients in various industries.
