An Evite for the Stars

Watching the Grammys last night, I found myself a little nostalgic about (dare I say it) a pandemic-era project. Clive Davis and the Grammys have been linked together for as far back as I can remember. From what I knew, Clive was the man with the golden ear – discovering artists from Janis Joplin to Whitney Houston and propelling them into the stratosphere of stardom. It was an absolute surprise that late in 2020 we were approached by Clive and his team to help figure out how to throw THE party of the year, from a computer screen…

Clive has been hosting his iconic and exclusive Pre-Grammy Gala for 50 years. Each celebration is preceded by an elaborately produced, personalized, and highly coveted invitation mailed to the VIP guest list of over 1000 world-renowned musicians, celebrities, and music industry giants. In 2021, due to the global pandemic, the party shifted to a virtual event for the first time and required digital invitations. Our goal was to capture the elegance and surprise that characterized the invitations of years past and translate the same spirit into an equally evocative digital invitation. The personalized invitations included a custom website and video.
