Fortune commissioned us to create an illustration for the new front-of-book section, The Brief, as part of their first redesigned issue launch in early 2020. The initial article surveyed the general election through the lens of brand marketing. Our solution? We manifested the attributes of strength versus stature as distinct beverage packages and shot them in still life. The physical objects gave a great tangible sense of the topic. So, we pitched it as an overall style to connect the subsequent bi-monthly section openers.

Our prop collection is interesting proof: From lava lamps to poker chips, magic eight balls, and every manner of tiny statue, you can find it all here. Using succinct conceptual storytelling, tangible materials, solid color backgrounds (red!), studio photography, and (limited) digital manipulation, we're still building on what we started four years ago with collaborative concepts and designs from all our different creatives here.
