The NYC Hospitality Alliance is the leading voice for New York City’s restaurant and nightlife industry — advocating for more than 25,000 establishments in the halls of government. We worked with Director Andrew Rigie to craft a new visual identity that brings strength to the court room and energy to the dance floor.
To represent the entirety of NYC hospitality industry, the brand identity had to balance the energy of nightlife with the seriousness of legal advocacy. The resulting system delivers critical information with precision, centered around a shield icon that represents the Alliance's role as a protector and guide in both the community and the courtroom.
Advocacy requires a presence that cannot be ignored. We extended the core identity into a tiered family of logos, providing a consistent framework for the Alliance’s various sub-entities. By adapting the geometry of the primary brand, we designed distinct identities for their Foundation, Podcast, and annual Event series. This cohesive ecosystem allows the Alliance to expand its reach without diluting its authority, giving them a professional, yet energetic, edge in every conversation.
Bringing all sides together to find solutions. City government to small shops. Nightlife to neighborhood committees. Constantly building and tweaking networks to include everyone in the conversation. The new look balances approachability with complex information, translating the organization's urgency into a powerful visual system and comes alive at their annual conference and award show.
